Rules

Players
  1) Players must be Division I players (exhibition games do not count in statistics)
  2) Positions will be defined by the following school's websites, using the ROSTER page for the teams (not a box
score to define positions).   Note:  If school site, either doesn't work or doesn't have a site, then ESPN.com would be a viable option for player position.  Note:  If player is listed as a "Swing" or "Post" as their position on the school site, they will be viewed as "Swing" = G/F and "Post" = F/C.
  3) Mid-Season Transfer (Add/Drop):
    a.  Each team will have 2 'free' mid-season add/drops that they can make ANYTIME during the regular season.
    b.  Transactions are allowed on a "first come, first serve" basis - not by what rank your standings are.
    c.  NOTE: each team only gets the 2 "free" transactions during the season - so choose wisely
    d.  The "redshirt" (see #4) add/drop does NOT count against your 'free' add/drop.
  4) Redshirt (Add/Drop):
    a.   To be eligible to redshirt, or drop a player, the player must be out (either by injury or suspension) for 3 or more weeks in a row (or it has been reported that the player will miss at least 3 weeks of consecutive action) OR has been dismissed from the school.
NOTE:
Redshirt or Drop for these reason do NOT count against your allowed 2 moves during the season.
    b.   IF player is  redshirted, the player is ineligible for the rest of that season.
    c.   After redshirting (or "dropping")  a player, you may then bring (ADD) up a player from “JV” (add new player) to play.
    d.   Each team will have two Redshirt slots.
    e.   NOTE:  You CANNOT  keep both the redshirted and new player once the season is completed; you’ll need to make a choice between the two by a month prior to next year's draft.
Helpful Hints in Regards to the use of Redshirt and/or Drop:
·

Note: you have to drop/redshirt the injured player while they are allowed to be dropped, once the player comes back to action you cannot then drop them without it being counted against your allowed moves.
·
Reasons to Redshirt a Player, as opposed to simply dropping a player:
  o
If it’s an underclassman and you want to keep open the option of retaining him for next year, you could redshirt your injured/transfer player
·
Reasons to Drop a Player, as opposed to simply redshirt a player:
  o

If the player is a senior, there really is NO reason to redshirt him, as he would not be coming back
  o
Although an underclassman, you may not want to use up one of your redshirts spots for that player, as    you have no desire for them to return to your team
  5) Trades:
    a.    Must be agreed upon by both teams, with a confirmation e-mail from both parties involved sent to Commissioner.  Trades must keep the roster requirements.  (Must be even up deals, 1-for-1, 2-for-2, etc...)
    b.    Trade Deadline:  All trades must be completed by end of last week of REGULAR season.  Once the tournaments are over, you may start trading again prior to next season's draft.
  6) Transactions:
ONLY Add/Drops/Redshirt for Injuries can be made once REGULAR season is completed-NO TRADES.

(NOTE:  once all tournament games are complete; ONLY trades can be made until after next season's draft)

Lineups
  1) Team Roster Requirements consist of 13 “scholarship” players:
There is NO requirement/minimums, as of the 2006-2007 season.  You are given 13 spots for which you are required to 'build' your roster.  You are required to meet your weekly lineup requirements, which are the same as previous seasons.
  2) Each week (Saturday-Friday) you’ll submit a 7-man lineup consisting of the following:
    a.    2-Guards
b.    2-Forwards
    c.    1-Center
    d.    1-Freshman
    e.    1-Sixth Man (any position)
  3) NOTE:  If you don’t submit your lineup to me by Saturday 11 a.m., the previous roster will be used.

Rankings Tiebreakers 1) Head-2-Head Win/Loss Record (if tied go to #2)
  2) Highest Scoring Average (if tied go to #3)
  3) Head-2-Head Scoring Average

Draft
  1) Draft order is decided by previous years FINAL tournament results. (Exception: NCAA League is based off final regular season rankings)
  2) Teams keep players who they either drafted or picked up from previous year.
  3) When next year’s draft is out, the players that are still eligible (still in college), you will draft for the vacant  spots.
4) You will not draft in the round of an “active” player.  Example:  If you drafted Carmelo Anthony in the 1st round
and he stayed in school, next year you wouldn’t have a 1st round selection, because he would be in the slot.
5) Mid-Season Transfer players replaced the draft position of the player they were picked up for.
6) After draft is completed, you would be able to “release a player from his scholarship” and “recruit a late signee”.
NOTE:  You will only be able to drop a MAXIMUM of 4 players!  So choose wisely!
7) "Live" draft to be conducted in online chat room.  If not able to attend draft, it's there obligation of the team owner
to submit a detailed draft list to the commissioner and/or a contact phone number.
8) Time limit between picks will be 4 minutes, as to not slow down the draft process, ensuring it will finish in a timely
manner for all parties involved.  IF a pick is skipped, due to not being online, draft lists empty, or unavailable for
contact via phone; the pick can be made up anytime during draft, as long as the player is still available.
League Participation

Based on:

1) Being a good sportsman
2) Keeping it a “friendly” competition
3) Plain just having fun!!!
4) Managing your team, if you’re going to use the same lineup each week, that’s fine, just make sure you’re
“submitting” your lineup, not leaving it dormant.
